Essential Information for Consigning to Auction

Linwoods Consignment team will guide to you throughout the auction process. Once your property is deemed suitable for auction, our specialists will set estimates, catalog your property, and promote it to potential buyers, consistently achieving prices that best meet or exceed your expectations.

Understanding Your Property's Value

Our specialists can provide your art valuations. To begin your art estimate request, please visit our Appraisal tab page to submit pictures and details of your property, requiring registration or login to your Linwoods Auction account. Additional information may be requested in some cases, and appointments can be scheduled to bring your property to the nearest Linwoods office.

Shipping and Insurance Arrangements

Our team can help organize the delivery of your property to the designated Linwoods location for auction. As the consignor, you are responsible for packing, shipping, and insurance costs. For assistance, please reach out to the selling location or your nearest Linwoods office.

Pricing and Payment Terms

The reserve price and seller’s commission are outlined in the seller’s contract. Upon a successful sale, payment will be issued within 35 days or of the received payment date, based on the hammer price after deducting the commission and agreed-upon expenses. If bidding falls short of the reserve price, the item may not be sold at auction. Consignors have the option to reclaim their property or consider alternative selling methods like reduced prices, future set forth auction or private sales. Any pre-agreed auction associated costs, such as shipping and handling, will be invoiced after post-auction.
